Downloading Movies To PSP For Next To Nothing

Anyone who now owns a Sony Play Station Portable (PSP) will know just what a great little device it is. Not only does it allow them to play all their favorite games on it, but it also allows them to watch movies, TV Shows and videos along with them being able to listen to all their favorite music. Yet even though you can watch movies on your PSP often it can come at a cost when you are trying to download movies on to it which can prove to be somewhat costly. Below we take a look at ways in which you can download movies to your PSP which are fairly inexpensive.

Below we are going to be looking at a number of websites that now offer you the opportunity to download movies both old and new from various different genres and what they can offer you.

But in order for you to download the movies of your choice from these particular websites you will first need to register with them and then pay a membership fee. This will either be a fee that you pay monthly, yearly or a lifetime one off payment. On average for the lifetime membership you can expect to pay around $40. Then once payment has been made and your membership has been confirmed you can log onto the website of your choice and start to download the movies you want from the list they have at any time that you choose.

The great thing about these particular sites is they are completely secure and you know that at anyone time you are being protected against any kind of Spyware, Adware or viruses being downloaded on to your PSP at the same time. Plus these sites also offer you a guarantee that you will get 100% of your membership fee back if you are not actually satisfied with what the website is offering you. The other great thing about using these sites in particular is that the downloads are all compatible for using with the various versions of PSP so need for conversion software.

We have explained the advantages to be gained from using membership sites now let us take a look at some of these sites a little more closely.

PSP Blender – This site charges you a one off life time membership fee of $37.00 and then if you choose to cancel this within the first 60 days they will refund this fee to you completely. Along with only paying the $37.00 life time membership fee you then have the facility to be able to download as many files as you want from their site. Not just movies but also music, videos and TV shows as well.

My PSP Download – With this particular you have a number of different membership options available to you. You can become a life time member and this costs $34.95 or you can join for just 2 years (costing $32.88) or you can become a member for just one year at a cost of $29.88. But with all of these once membership has been confirmed and payment has been made you are entitled to download as many movies, TV shows, videos and music files from the site as you want. However with this site you have 8 weeks in which to cancel your membership and if you choose to do so in this time the full amount you paid to them will be refunded. The other benefit of joining this site is it provides 24/7 technical support to all its members.

So when it comes to downloading movies to your PSP today you have a number of options to choose from. But of all the options available the 2 sites we have mentioned above are probably the best to consider when it comes to getting movie downloads for PSP without you having to spend a fortune.

The Wonderful World of TV Viewed Through HDTV

High-definition television or HDTV sets were launched and introduced in 1998. On its launch, HDTV spurred excitement amongst many and promised an enhanced viewing experience for sports fans and movie addicts.

You must be wondering why all the fuss. Well, there is a pretty good reason for TV and movie buffs to get excited about the advent of HDTV.

To start with HDTV raises the bar in terms of quality with resolutions that are far superior to normal analog TV’s and of course this is complemented by equally superior digital surround sound. Now, not only can you play movies and watch them in original widescreen format, you have incredible sound quality as well. A purer cinematic experience.

HDTV and the confused market

Unfortunately, with new technology is always the confusion about the new terminology and what features mean and which are essential. A HDTV buyers guide would be useful here. Already there are plenty of models and technologies on the market, and this has selecting the correct HDTV set more complicated.

Consumers who now shop for TV sets find themselves surrounded and astounded by numerous abbreviations and a wide array of choices that literally confuses them. It only serves to proves that the HDTV industry is still growing and improving to meet demand.

Indeed, TV is still the most powerful media. Consistently rising sales of HDTV sets can attest to that.

From analog TV to HDTV

For decades, TV addicts around the world have watched TV through analog signals beamed and received by the cathode ray tube or CRT TV sets. Cathode ray tubes are the tubes that make up most of the TV screen.

Analog TV works with simple and uncomplicated dynamics. The TV signal is beamed or transmitted using radio waves that when received by television sets are translated and converted into sound and pictures, the TV experience being communicated to the audience on the receiving end.

Conventional TV analog signals reach TV sets through a cable connection, a satellite transmission or over the air. Because the technology is shifting towards digital technology and will take time, old analog televisions can still covert digital signals into analog signals.

This is also true of digital DVD movies. The digital DVD signals are converted into analog by the old television sets. However, consumers and movie addicts have noticed and have been complaining about how the picture and sound quality of DVD movies are lowered and altered when watched through an analog TV set.

This is where HDTV‘s come in. Because HDTV is custom-made for digital broadcasts and transmission, it is the perfect equipment or TV set for viewing digitally transmitted signals, whether from the DVD player, from the digital cable operators and from digital over-the-air free television broadcasts.

Buying HDTV sets

Buying HDTV sets can be tiring and stressful. Don’t get it wrong. The weariness and stress people get from shopping for HDTV‘s comes from the disappointment to be not be able to bring home the correct HDTV set and knowing which is the correct one for them.

HDTV is really an excellent form of new technology involving and evolving the well-loved television. From TV’s invention in 1926, it now comes in the form of the modernized HDTV, which would certainly make past generations envious.

The best things in life are for free. That is why, viewing the world through that little window called the television must really be an exciting experience for all viewers. Get your HDTV now but ensure you choose the right one for you!

Silent Hill – Homecoming Review For PlayStation 3

Silent Hill 2 was the first SH series I played for the Sony PlayStation 2. And to be honest, I didn’t like it, back then I was childish and I stopped playing after an hour or so just because of the crappy graphics. Childish huh? I thought so too.

When Silent Hill 3 came out, again for the PS2, my impression of the series went a complete 360. Partly because I grew up a bit more and partly because both the game play as well as the graphics were improved. I actually beat the game three times just to unlock costumes and the mighty light saber! Then came Silent Hill 4: The Room in 2004 and it was another hit. I can’t really say the graphics were improved much over SH3 but the game play was certainly different because you were basically stuck in your own “room” and the alternate world.

Finally, Silent Hill: Homecoming or sometimes I call it Silent Hill 5, is the first Silent Hill game to be released for the next-gen consoles. Is Silent Hill:Homecoming really a homecoming? Or is it a shortcoming?

Story and controls

You will be fighting through this hellish Silent Hill with by controlling a solider who is searching for his brother. At least this time your character has been trained to fight! One great feature added is the option to dodge and then perform a counter attack as well as “trading” your health for stronger attacks. Combo and charged attacks stay as is as from Silent Hill: Origin for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Again the raio and your ever-lasting flash light will help you fight your way through. Your radio will emit static noises when threats are close by and your flash light, well light your way obviously! And just like the previous series, you are always fighting between the real world and the alternate, more horrified world. The controls are somewhat different from the previous series which takes sometime to get used to, one obvious difference is the way to access your weapons/items menus. I accidentally wasted a healing item when I was meant to go into attack mode. The combat controls are aslo slightly different if I remember correctly, sorry its been a while since I played SH4. Overall nothing anyone cannot handle.

You start out in one of the common places in the SH series – the Hospital. I was really excited because I got to “reunite” with the sexy but deadly nurses! You get to fight your very first one as soon as you pick up your combat knife. There are now two buttons for two modes of attacks which you can chain/combo. One mode is the normal attack and the other is the heavy attack which can be charged to perform even heavier blows. I also think the character’s movement could have been a bit more agile, it feels a bit slow when navigating around.

Game play and graphics

You will continue to fight creatures that look horrible and terririfying most of the times just like previous series. But the good old nurses are sexier than ever! To be honest, the graphics is worse than what I was expecting, I was trying to compare with Metal Gear Solid 4. Maybe that’s not comparing apple to apple but the graphics don’t convince me of next-gen graphics. But the water actually looks pretty good though, and I’m only talking about when standing still because there are no splashes or ripples when walking/running through. There are many scenes that are just too bloody and gory for me to show them on my blog because I know not everyone can tolerate this kind of horror. I apologize for not being able to take pictures of when fighting enemies because they are just so quick and often fighting in tight spaces. And I did get a few scare here and there from my 2 hour play. The best one was when I was back home, one of the doors suddenly closed on its own which was totally unexpected when the environment was so peaceful. Ok no more spoilers!

There is little to no loading time unless you move from a completely different area or building which is great. I think this game is too dark, maybe its my TV, but I had to adjust the brightness to the max before I could see better. I know this game is meant to be in the dark but it was just too dark I could barely enjoy it before the adjustment. For those who wonder, this game runs only at 720p max.

So far I’ve also found something new which is health boosting item which permanently boosts your health. And once in a while you need to perform some button mashing be it cutting your way through or being attacked by bugs. The bugs are actually annoying I almost got half my health drained because it was so dark (before the brightness adjustment) and I couldn’t see the bug but my health was slowly going down non stop. Aside from the not too impressed graphics, two other thing I dislike, first is the fact that doors that you open will close themselves after a while, why is that? Second, bodies of dead enemeies disappear after a while as well. I like to use them as indicators that I’ve visited the rooms. (yes I’m really bad with directions even with maps)

Sound

Sound and music have always been one of the key elements to Silent Hill’s scariness. SH:Homecoming is no different. Within 15 minutes of playing the game, you will hear baby crying somewhere near you, but you will never know where. Though the background sound can be quite a headache in the alternate (nasty) world for some people its not a show stopper, eventually you will get used to it. There are also many music that are actually pleasant to the ears sort of give you a break from all the horror and a peace of mind, at least for a short period of time.

Final Verdict

I highly recommend this game for those that have been following the series. And for MAXIMUM satisfaction, play this game in COMPLETE darkness and ALONE! If you can crank up the volumn, that makes the game even scarier to experience! I think that’s the way survival horror games should be played. This game will most likely not for you if you are not into horror movies/games and get scared very easily (might get heart attacks at times). Although graphics don’t determine if the game is worth playing or not, I still expected them to be next-gen quality which they are not, I mean if Metal Gear Solid 4 could do it, why not Silent Hill? So don’t expect any stunning graphics. And last but not least, I do wish KONAMI can implement online co-op mode to the next series as it would be a great addition/feature to have, assuming there is a next series. Finally, I hope this review helps some of you in deciding if Silent Hill: Homecoming is worth buying or not.

Sony Ericsson P990i Mobile Phone Review

The Sony Ericsson P series smart phones have been around for a few years now, and over their various generations have gone from being a fairly bulky PDA alternative with the early models P900 and P910 through to being an extremely capable smart phone that leads the market with the latest generation P990i model.

Although slightly larger than many competing smart phones, the Sony Ericsson P990i is well worth considering for business use thanks to its comprehensive range of features, which include a complete QWERTY keyboard hidden under the regular dialling keypad, which flips down to reveal it.

The phone has a touch screen, and can be controlled with a stylus in order to enter data or navigate through the menu systems, and it runs on the popular Symbian operating system, meaning that anyone who is used to smart phones should have no trouble in adapting to the ownership of a Sony Ericsson P990i from their previous model. One of the biggest upgrades on the latest model is the fact that it can now offer a 400 hour standby time and more than 9 hours of talk time when fully charged.

As you would expect from the flagship model in the range, the P990i has been released with almost every conceivable gadget built in, including a 2 mega pixel camera, a fully featured MP3 and media player, and is able to connect to a wireless network as well as a standard mobile phone network as well.

With its large screen and keyboard, surfing the internet is a straightforward matter, and, if you have wifi access where you are, the download speeds are exceptionally fast. Most prominent document types are supported on the phone, including Microsoft office files such as Word and Excel, and you can open and read PDF files too.

The P990i is fully capable of being your digital assistant, and users can keep in touch in practically any location with its mix of Quad band and 3G networks that support email, SMS, MMS, Video Calling, and instant messaging through the wifi connection to the Internet.

Although most of the functionality of this particular model is geared towards the heaviest business users, the P990i is still worth considering for other purposes, and many people who make the switch to this kind of top end phone soon discover that it offers them everything that they need to stay in touch, and acts as a digital handbag rather than just being a simple phone.
